BASketBALL

Board 130 of the IAABO will be offering classes for anyone interested in becoming a certified basketball official at North Andover High at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 27 and 29; Oct. 4, 6, 12, 13, 18, 20, 25 and 27. Salem registration for travel, rec and instructional basketball for grades 2-12 is available at salembasketball.org. Registration is also Sept. 15 from 6-8 p.m. and Sept. 18 and Sept. 25 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Salem Boys & Girls Club.

The New England Warriors is holding registration for two fall basketball training programs at Northern Essex CC. "Pure Shooting" & "Skills Workouts" is a program that focuses on just shooting. Players will be videotaped several times. "Skills" program is a program that teaches fundamentals. Both start Sept. 11 and offer flexible scheduling. North Andover Youth Hockey League has open registration for its Learn to Play Hockey Program, which is designed for children ages 5 and up. It will be held Saturdays and Sundays from mid-September through March at the Brooks School Skating Rink in North Andover. FLAG FOOTBALL

The Merrimack Valley NFL youth flag football league for grades 2-8 both boys and girls still has openings. Games will be played on Sundays at the Northern Essex Community College Haverhill campus. Learn and play football without the injuries associated with full contact football. Registration is Sunday, Sept. 12. The Atkinson Lions Club Tourney is Sept. 18 with an 8 a.m. shotgun start at the Granite Fields Golf Club. The $100 fee includes greens fees, range balls, carts, steak dinner and prizes. For more information call Dennis at 603-498-6991.

Tennis

The New Hampshire Tennis Hub, in conjunction with the Derry Recreation Department, is offering two tennis tournaments this fall. The first is the Derryfest Mixed Doubles Classic on Sept. 17-19, at Pinkerton Academy. The cost is $40 per couple and the deadline is Sept. 15. Applicants must be at least 18 years or older.

On Oct. 16-17, the Octoberfest Rockin' One on One Doubles Challenge will be held at Pinkerton Academy. The entry fee is $25 per person and the deadline is Oct. 14.

LEARN TO SKATE

North Andover Youth Hockey League has open registration for its Learn to Skate Program for area youth. The Learn to Skate Program is for children 4 and up. The first 12 week session will start on Sept. 18. The second 12 week session will start in December 2010. Both sessions will be held at the Brooks School Skating Rink in North Andover.
