Jay Leno flew across the country yesterday to hand a $100,000 check to an old friend. The "Tonight Show" host performed at Salem State College last night to honor 85-year-old Lennie Sogoloff, the Peabody native who ran "Lennie's on the Turnpike" from 1951-72, the Route 1 jazz club where Leno got his big break.
