SALEM, N.H. — Cassandra R. "Cassie" Ray, 21, of Salem, N.H., tragically passed away in a canoeing accident Friday, Feb. 26, 2010 in Raymond, N.H.
She was born in Melrose, grew up and was educated in Salem, N.H., where she graduated from Salem High School in 2006. While she attended SHS she played Volleyball and studied and taught classical piano. She later attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Cassie will be remembered for her smile and free spirit. She will be forever missed by those who love her.
She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Peter Smith. She is survived by her parents, Robin Smith and Jim Michaud of North Salem, N.H.; sisters, Samantha Ray of Salem, N.H., Jaclyn Michaud of Manchester, N.H.; brother, Nicholas Michaud of Los Angeles; maternal grandmother, Dianne Smith of Salem, N.H.; paternal grandparents, Warren and Jean Ray of Laconia, N.H.; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be held Friday, March 5 at 11 a.m. at the North Salem United Methodist Church, North Salem, N.H. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem. Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 4 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, N.H.
