CONCORD, N.H. — Ethel Laffin Wison, 92, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009 at her home.
Born in Moose Brook, Nova Scotia, Canada on Feb. 25, 1917, she grew up in Wilmington before moving to Ballardvale. She attended Lowell State Teacher's College. She worked as a librarian and retired from Memorial Hall Library in Andover. Upon retiring she moved to Newton, N.H. and in 1991 she moved to Concord.
She was an active member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the Pierce Brigade.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Wilson; two brothers, Lowell and Lloyd Laffin; and her son-in-law, Richard Woodhead. She is survived by her only daughter, Joan Wilson Woodhead. She is also survived by her grandsons, Mark and wife Michelle, Scott and wife Anita, David Woodhead, and granddaughter, Lisa Roy and husband Rick. She has five great-grandchildren, Allie and Trevor Woodhead, Ethan and Benjamin Roy and Nina Maxfield and one great-great-granddaughter, Lilly Anna Maxfield and three generations of nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial celebration of her life will be held on Friday, Dec. 11, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church in Concord. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pierce Brigade, P.O. Box 425, Concord, N.H. The Bennett Funeral Home of Concord is in charge of the arrangements.
