SCARBOROUGH, Maine — Sandra Jean Bailer, 46, of Chestnut Drive, Scarborough, passed away suddenly Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at the Maine Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 19, 1964 in Haverhill, the daughter of Richard and the late Jeanette Abbott Perkins.
Sandra attended and graduated from Haverhill High school in 1982. While there she was a member of the National Honor Society and president of the French Club.
Sandra attended the University of Boston and graduated from the University of New England with a degree in human services.
For over 20 years she was the manager for the Friendship Motor Inn in Scarborough. Most recently she was a literacy teacher for the primary grades at the Old Blue Point School in Scarborough.
Mrs. Bailer loved art and watching her children play sports. She was also the creator of Gracie Girl Bonnets. She will be remembered as a loving mother, wife, sister, daughter and friend to all.
Survivors include her husband of 20 years, Steven Bailer of Scarborough; her father, Richard Perkins of Haverhill; a son, Ryan Bailer; and a daughter, Grace Bailer; three sisters, Jill Perkins-Bouchard and her husband Vincent, Beth Ann Cesata, and Hope Powell and her husband Lance, all of Haverhill. Additional special survivors include her "Maine" parents, Mary and Tom Donovan of Saco, Maine.
Also beloved daughter-in-law to Don and Rose Bailer; sister-in-law, to Dan and Deb Laflin, Dave and Pat Bailer and Paul and Linda Bailer. She will be missed by several nephews and nieces.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours are to be held at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main St., Saco, Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Old Blue Point Congregational Church, Old Blue Point Road, Scarborough, Maine.
