NORTH ANDOVER — Stephen A. Chiara, 81, of North Andover, passed on peacefully on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at the Kindred Hospital of Peabody, following a short illness.
Born in Lawrence on March 6, 1929, Steve was the son on the late Antonio and Angelina (Larocca) Chiara. He received his education in the Lawrence School System, and then along with his family moved from Lawrence to North Andover.

Steve's life was centered upon his family and his home. He thoroughly enjoyed many happy times dining out at local restaurants with his family and friends. He also had many diverse interests and in particular he was very fond gardening, a tradition that was passed on from his father.
Steve's vegetables were a great source of pride and he generously shared his harvest with many. He also spent many hours working in his workshop and during his retirement years he was very enthusiastic about working on his computer at which he was most skilled.
Steve was a devoted brother and loving son who will be deeply missed by his beloved brother, Filippo "Phil" Chiara of North Andover; and all who knew him.
