The Women's Business League (WBL), a national networking community for female entrepreneurs and businesswomen held their Summer Soiree on Thursday, August 26 at The Stevens Estate in North Andover.

Co-founders representing the Georgetown chapter are Melissa Gilbo of Georgetown and Amy Pocsik of West Newbury. Representing the Andover chapter was Ana Martinez of Methuen and Michelle Houlihan of Andover. The Andover chapter donated a gift basket for the raffle.

The event welcomed 150 local business owners who donate new and gently used handbags and purses to Uncommon Threads in Lawrence. The nonprofit agency works with social services organizations to help empower low-income women through personal development coaching and wardrobe styling.

Attorney Yolla Sabounji of Methuen, who is with the law office of Robert E. Frawley in Lawrence donated 105 purses and handbags, with a little help from her friends, to Uncommon Threads during the Soiree.
