LONDONDERRY — Michael MacNeil, director of Institutional Advancement at St. Mary's High School, received the William A. MacNeill Award from the Association of Catholic Advancement and Admissions Professionals (ACAAP). The award was presented on March 15 at the ACAAP Spring Conference at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester. MacNeil was previously honored with the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Quarter Century Circle Award in 2010. He lives in Londonderry.

BOSTON — Citizens Bank announces that the application period for its annual TruFit Good Citizen Scholarship program will be open through April 30. Forty scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors and current college students who are attending or have been accepted to a federally accredited four-year college, university or graduate program and who have been active in community service. The scholarships will be awarded this summer for the 2012-2013 academic year. Applicants are asked to write an essay of no more than 250 words or to record an up to 60-second video explaining the responsibility and leadership skills they have developed through their community service experience. NASHUA — Rivier College will celebrate its 77th commencement on May 12, and present an honorary degree to the 48th president of Georgetown University, Dr. John DeGioia. DeGioia is a graduate of Georgetown, having earned both a bachelor's degree in English and his doctorate in philosophy. Upon his appointment as president on July 2, 2001, he has enhanced Georgetown's relationship with the many political, cultural, corporate, and economic resources of Washington, D.C. and has led the development of initiatives designed to focus on interreligious dialogue, global health and emerging economies. DeGioia is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and serves as chair of the board of directors of the Forum for the Future of Higher Education, the Consortium on Financing Higher Education and the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metro Area. He is also a member of the board of directors for the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities.
