Registered nurse Patricia Kalil of Methuen was named an employee of the month for December at Hallmark Health. As a clinical practice leader in the Emergency Department at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, Kalil's role is to be constantly aware of all patient activity in the department. She knows when and where to step in to help others and has a solid working relationship with all staff, including the physicians. Kalil was nominated for this award by her co-workers who made note of her exceptional abilities.


Representatives of Canobie Lake Park, a family amusement park in Salem, N.H., recently presented a check for more than $17,000 to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern New England at the Salem, N.H. McDonald's. The money was raised through a partnership which offered Canobie Lake Park coupons during the summer in more than 300 McDonald's restaurants in eastern New England.

Canobie Lake Park has been operating since 1902 and has nearly 90 rides, games, live entertainment and attractions.
