HAVERHILL — Winnekenni Castle will kick off its 16th year of Psychic Nights on Thursday, April 25, with a lineup of readers and holistic practitioners.

Castle staff readers Valeria, Judith-Anne and Amy Sabatino will be joined by guest readers Amy Major, Gretchen Meisner and Elizabeth Robidoux along with holistic wellness providers Laurie Livingston-Irwin, Reiki master, and Tanji Samson, energy healing.

Psychic readings are $25 per 15-minute session. Multiple sessions may be purchased with multiple readers or to create longer blocks of time with a single reader. Appointments are booked at the door only.

Doors open at approximately 4:55 p.m.

Guests are permitted to purchase later hour appointments, leave the castle and then return in time for their session. Socializing before and after appointments in the castle's main hall is welcomed, however we respectfully ask to keep the noise level to a minimum for the readers as well as the clients receiving the readings. Refreshments will be available.

Disabled American Veterans seeks new members

HAVERHILL — All Disabled American Veterans and those who are qualified and interested in joining are invited to attend monthly meetings of the Disabled American Veterans Hannah Dustin Chapter 20, which are held the second Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m. in City Hall, 4 Summer St. Please use the Newcomb Street entrance across from the Elks Club. Meetings are in the basement, second door on the right.

The handicapped accessible door is on the Main Street side with push button entry. The group is active with VA benefits, volunteering, city affairs, healthcare, local activities and surrounding areas and more.

First-time homebuyer training offered

HAVERHILL — Community Action Inc. will offer first time homebuyer education classes for area residents beginning Wednesday, May 1, from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Presidential Gardens Community Room, 140 Evergreen Drive, Bradford.

Participants will receive comprehensive information offered by housing professionals including bank lenders, buyer/seller real estate brokers, housing attorneys, insurance agents home inspectors and credit counselors as well as information about individual household mortgage pre-qualification; foreclosure sales; affordable housing lotteries and services of a buyer broker, down payment assistance programs and reduced interest loans.

A Massachusetts Homeownership Collaborative approved certificate is awarded after completion of the three-night course. The program is also approved by MassHousing. The class meets May 1, 8 and 9 and the cost is $60 per household. There are no income requirements to take the training.
