HAVERHILL — The Exchange Club of Haverhill will hold its 18th annual Rick Barry St. Patrick's Day Breakfast at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 15 at DiBurro's in Ward Hill.

The event will include a lucky shamrock contest, scratch ticket give-aways, a 50/50 raffle and music by Clan Macpherson and the Tony & Eamonn Band.

Tickets are $40 per person or $350 for a table of 10. Tickets are available at www.haverhillexchangeclub.com. Premier sponsor is Haverhill Bank.

Kindergarten registration sessions set

HAVERHILL — Haverhill Public Schools will hold kindergarten information sessions from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. and from 6 to 7 p.m. on March 5, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and from 6 to 7 p.m. on March 7 at the public library, 99 Main St.

Families only need to attend one of the four sessions. There will be a brief overview of the kindergarten programs, the registration process and planning the months ahead. Parents will also be able to schedule their child's registration appointment at these sessions.

Landlords Guild to meet

HAVERHILL — The Haverhill Landlords Guild will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at the Roma Restaurant in Bradford. All landlords, property managers or those who might someday like to own income producing property are invited to attend. You do not have to be a member of the Landlords Guild to attend.

Knit and Crochet Group will meet

HAVERHILL — The public library’s Knit and Crochet Group will meet from 1 to 3 p.m. on March 2 and from 7 to 8:45 p.m. on March 19. Talk about your favorite books, yarns and patterns. Bring your knitting and/or crochet project and make some progress while chatting. No registration is necessary. 

NECC plans open house

LAWRENCE — Northern Essex Community College will hold its annual spring open house from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 2, in the Dr. Ibrahim El-Hefni Allied Health & Technology Center, 414 Common St., Lawrence.

Tour the state-of-the-art facility and learn about NECC’s various academic programs and services at the resource fair. Also learn about the admission and enrollment process. Apply to NECC on the spot.

'Alice’s Ordinary People' viewing at library

HAVERHILL — The public library will show and discuss "Alice’s Ordinary People," from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on March 4. Alice Tregay, a behind-the-scenes civil rights powerhouse who paved the way for the Obama presidency, will be featured. She worked with Martin Luther King, Jesse Jackson and many other 1960s luminaries.

The film “Ordinary People” tells her story, which has inspired others to be the change agents in their communities. Film and discussion with the director, Craig Dudnick, and Kat Everett, co-founder of Haverhill nonprofit POSE (Power of Self-Education) will take place. No registration needed.

NECC to hold health fair

HAVERHILL — Northern Essex Community College will hold its spring Health and Wellness Fair from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday, March 4. Activities will be held at the Haverhill campus Spurk Building, 100 Elliott St., in the first and second floor lobbies.

Learn about topics including high blood pressure, allergies, environmental health, Title IX awareness, sleep disorders, stress management, drug and alcohol education, fitness assessment (BMI), the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center transgender health program, and more. There will also be complimentary massages and raffles offered throughout the event.

Representatives from NECC’s health programs, including iHealth@NECC, will be on site to answer questions and discuss each of NECC’s programs in depth.
