Beer, bluegrass and barbecue. What more could dad want?
Stevens-Coolidge Place in North Andover has you covered this Father’s Day with a Bluegrass Bash on Sunday, June 16, from 4 to 7 p.m. that’s fit for the entire family.
The garden at the historic home at 137 Andover St. will be rocking to the sounds of the bluegrass band Mamma’s Marmalade.
The five-piece band offers a fresh take on traditional American music, transforming the conventional bluegrass experience into a raucous barnyard party, event organizers say. Based in Northampton, the band has been fusing diverse musical sounds into an energetic sound since its formation in 2014.
Mixed in with the music will be a classic summer menu of barbecue, coleslaw and watermelon from Bedlam Farm BBQ and sweet treats from Kim Gregory|Pure Pastry of Beverly, all available for purchase. The Ipswich Ale Beer Truck and 1634 Meadery will be on hand to allow dad to indulge in some Father’s Day drinks.
Lawn games, including bean bag toss, will be set up around the grounds. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets and sit back and enjoy the fun.
The cost for members of the Trustees of Reservations is $12 for adults and $6 for children and for nonmembers is $20 for adults and $10 for children. Registration is encouraged at thetrustees.org/things-to-do/.
