Info Fair for women returning to college
Northern Essex Community College will host an Information Fair for women returning to school Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Technology Center conference room on the Haverhill campus. Snow date is Thursday, at the same time and location.
Area women who are interested in returning to school are invited to attend this free event. The Information Fair is designed to help ease common anxieties and apprehensions about returning to school after being away from the classroom for some time.
Two NECC students who have already faced the challenge will share their journeys — Denise Jackson of Atkinson, N.H., a business and hospitality student, and Christina Crapo of Plaistow, N.H., a nursing student and mother of three young children.
Staff and faculty will be available to answer questions. Participants will learn about enrollment, financial aid, certificate and degree programs, career exploration and support services available at NECC to help students succeed.
Women will be able to register for free workshops offered through the Women's Network during the spring 2009 semester. There will also be a raffle for a NECC Bookstore gift certificate. For more information or to reserve your space, call 978-556-3735.
