NORTH ANDOVER — The Planning Board has postponed until Sept. 3 a proposal to locate a day-care center at 102 Peters St.
The board approved Dundee Properties’ request to tear town a single-family house at that location, next to the Andover town line, and build a one-story office building in its place April 3 of last year. The house was razed and the office building constructed — but the applicant has asked the Planning Board for permission to put a day-care center there instead of medical offices, which was the original intent.
When the request for a change of use first came before the Planning Board on Aug. 6, members voiced concerns about the increased traffic that will result from a day-care center, with large numbers of parents dropping off and picking up their children.
The hearing was postponed at the request of the applicant.
