LAWRENCE — A 15-year-old girl was raped by a family acquaintance after he threatened to come get her with a gun if she didn't come to meet him, police said.
Police said Dinelson Adames, 36, of 17 Loring St., and the victim had exchanged phone numbers on Sunday and he began calling her Monday night.
The victim told police she spoke to Adames about 2 a.m. and he was trying to convince her to come to his apartment, but she refused. The victim said Adames told her if she didn't come over he would come get her with a gun.
She told police she went to his apartment and he tried to give her a drink which she refused, and then he brought her to his bedroom and began to touch her inappropriately.
He tried to get her to touch him and take her clothes off, but she refused.
The victim told police Adames raped her and she was trying to push him off her as he called her names in Spanish.
Adames was arrested outside his home at 17 Loring St. and charged with aggravated rape, statutory rape, and possession of ammunition without a firearms identification card.
Police found a knife on Adames when he was arrested.
During a search of his apartment, police found a locked box containing 20 9mm bullets, two passports, two checkbooks and a wallet with a driver's license.
