DERRY — A video game store was robbed at knifepoint last night for the second time in two weeks.
Two men, wearing black hoodies and bandanas that covered their faces, held up GameStop at 35 Manchester Road shortly before 9 p.m. and fled with cash, according to Derry police Lt. John Muise. Both men are believed to be in their 20s, he said.
"It was very similar to the one two weeks ago," Muise said.
On April 27, two men thought to be in their 20s and also wearing dark hoodies and bandanas robbed the same store, Muise said. That robbery also occurred shortly before 9 p.m. and involved a store employee being held up at knifepoint. The suspects fled with money from the store's cash register and were never caught.
No one was injured in either incident, police said.
Although a state police K-9 unit searched for the robbers two weeks ago, one was not called out last night.
"An undetermined amount of cash was taken," Muise said.
While the robberies at the Manchester Road store were very similar, Derry police do not know if they are related. It is also not known if the two holdups are connected to a similar robbery at a GameStop store in Hooksett on Saturday, Muise said.
An employee at the GameStop in Derry declined comment on yesterday's robbery.
Anyone with information on these incidents can call Derry police at 432-6111.
