BRENTWOOD — A 24-year-old former Derry man faces 10 charges, including eight counts of incest.
Robert Starr of 133 Seminole Ave., Waltham, Mass., was recently indicted by a grand jury in Rockingham Superior Court.
He is charged with eight counts of incest and two counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault for alleged incidents involving a relative over more than a year’s time, according to the indictments.
Starr was living on Fairway Drive in Derry when he was arrested by police March 17, following a call from a family member, Derry police Capt. Vern Thomas said.
Starr was taken to the county jail and arraigned the next day in 10th Circuit Court, where he was ordered held on $25,000 cash bail, Thomas said. He is no longer being held at the jail.
The incidents allegedly occurred in Derry between Sept. 1, 2012, and Sept. 11, 2013, the indictments said.
If convicted at trial, Starr could face a maximum of 10 to 20 years in state prison on each of the aggravated felonious sexual assault charges and each of the six incest counts.
He faces three and a half to seven years in prison on the two remaining incest counts.
