LAWRENCE — Although it rained on their parade, literally, more than a dozen Latino groups marched along the city's streets yesterday as part of the

Hispanic Week festival.

A throng of people stood along the route to see beauty queens riding in convertibles and floats representing cultural and sports clubs, along

with marchers from various organizations.

Since it's an election year, all the Latinos running for mayor were out in force with posters. Many wore T-shirts bearing the candidates' names.

Here is the list of winners:

Youth marchers

First place, Massachusetts Cultural Group; second place, Roberto Clemente Little League.

Adult marchers

First place, Carnival Association of Massachusetts; second place,Puerto Rican Union.

Adult sports

First place, Lawton Boxing gym; second place, Lawton Rider Motorcycle group.

Youth sports

First place, International Baton Twirlers; second place, Greater Lawrence YWCA; third place, Lawrence Pop Warner football.

Adult floats

First place, Puerto Rican Union; second place, New England Puerto Rican Association; and third place, Latin Lions Club.
