Ledge blasting on Interstate 93 will require rolling roadblocks and brief traffic stops beginning Tuesday, July 5, the state Department of Transportation announced.
The work, in the area of Exit 1 in Salem, will be daily from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. It will continue for two to three weeks.
Motorists using I-93 north and south will see speeds reduced to 5 mph and delays of up to 15 minutes. Motorists using the Exit 1 southbound on-ramp can expect traffic stops of up to 15 minutes.
Uniformed officers and traffic control devices will slow and direct traffic in the work zone.
