KINGSTON — Registration is under way for Sanborn Adult Education. Core and More Session I, will be Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. at the middle school beginning tomorrow. Learn basic alignment techniques, which combines the disciplines of Pilates, yoga and somatics. The cost for the eight-week session is $79. Core and More Session II will begin May 4 and run for six weeks. The cost is $59. This class is open to all levels; no experience required.

Gentle Yoga, a six-week session, begins March 16 at the middle school and will be Mondays from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. The cost is $59.

Scholarships available for would-be NH teachers

The New Hampshire Retired Educators Association offers two $1,500 scholarships to graduates of New Hampshire secondary schools. Students must be in their junior year at an accredited college or university pursuing a course of study leading to teacher certification. Students in a five-year program must be in their senior year of study.

The Irene Hart Memorial Award is given to a New Hampshire student studying in state. The NHREA Award is given to a New Hampshire student studying out of state.

Applications are due May 1 and may be obtained from any retired New Hampshire teacher or by calling Phyllis Simmons at 382-8205.

Donate blood in Derry tomorrow

DERRY — The Derry Medical Center, along with Derry Sports & Rehab, will host a blood drive tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the back parking lot of Overlook Medical Park on 6 Tsienneto Road in Derry.

The blood drive is open to the public and all blood types are needed. Individuals who are at least 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds, and are in general good health may be eligible to donate blood. Bring your Red Cross blood donor card or another form of positive ID when you come to donate.

Donate unwanted items in Kingston

KINGSTON — Anyone who has unwanted clothes and shoes, eyeglasses, paper and newspapers can drop them off at New Creation Healing Center, 80 Route 125. There are two Dumpsters at the end of the driveway. The paper/newspaper Dumpster had recently been filled to overflowing, but it's now empty. Eyeglasses can be dropped at the front desk during office hours.

New Creation is a nondenominational center of wellness combining family practice medicine, massage therapy, counseling and Christian prayer ministry. For information, call 642-6700.

Fundraising dance slated in Newton

NEWTON — American Legion Post 4 will host a fundraising dance for the Duffy family on Saturday.

The event, from 7 p.m. to midnight, is in memory of Deborah Duffy, who died on Thanksgiving at age 48. She leaves her husband, John, and two young children, Louisa and David. The fundraiser is organized by friends of the family.

Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. There will be appetizers, a silent auction, raffles and music provided by a disc jockey. The post is at 1314 Main St.
