LAWRENCE — The City of Lawrence Veterans' Services is seeking volunteers to help decorate veterans' graves May 21.
Volunteers will meet at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum on Barker Street where they will place 7,500 flags.
Volunteers should bring comfortable shoes and drinking water.
Also on May 21, the 20th anniversary celebration of the Lawrence's Vietnam Memorial will be held at 11:30 a.m. by the Red Barn at Bellevue Cemetery, 100 Reservoir St.
On May 22 beginning at 11 a.m., Lawrence Veterans' Services will dedicate two squares in the city in memory of servicemen, one at White and Elm Streets and the second at Union and Haverhill streets.
The Son's of Italy Road race, which benefits veterans, will step off May 28 at 10 a.m. from the Sons of Italy lodge, 155 Marston St.
Then on May 30, the City of Lawrence Memorial Day Ceremony starts at 9:30 a.m. at , Bellevue Cemetery.
Comedy show raises money for local charities
HAVERHILL - Local comedians Patty Ross, Brad Mastrangelo and Carole Montgomery will entertain at a comedy night May 20 at DiBurro's Restaurant, Boston Road.
Appetizers will be served from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Comedians will perform from 8 to 10 p.m., followed by a DJ and dancing until midnight.
Tickets are $50 and can be purchased in advance by calling Janet Mills at 978-866-9185 or John Felci at 978-479-5344, or you can buy them at the door.
The event is sponsored by the Lawrence Rotary Club. Proceeds will benefit charitable services and scholarships.
This year, the Club awarded a total of $12,500 to agencies providing direct services to children.
The Rotary Club welcomes new members. The group meets Thursday at noon at Greater Lawrence Technical High School.

Psychological Center holds walk for homeless
LAWRENCE - The Psychological Center is holding its first annual Walk for the Homeless May 15, starting at the center's offices, 11 Union St. and ending at Daybreak Shelter,
Monies raised will support the renovations of the shelter, with additional money from the city of Lawrence. Daybreak services more than 400 people a year whose lives are affected by homelessness and substance abuse.
Master's Swim program

Whether you are new to competition, experienced or just want a coached swim, there is a place for everyone. The Andover/North Andover YMCA's Master's Swim Team is a supportive, fun and competitive group of adults (age 19 and older).

LAWRENCE —The annual Cabaret Dance hosted by the Lawrence Vietnam Memorial committee is Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Claddagh Pub and Restaurant, 566 Amesbury St.
Proceeds are used for student scholarships .
