PELHAM — A Maine man was arrested last night in connection with a stabbing at a Dutton Road party early Sunday morning.
Brian Simpson, 27, of Standish, was arrested and charged with first degree assault, class A felony, police said.
He will be arraigned today in the 10th Circuit Court in Salem, police said.
Meanwhile, the victim, who has yet to be identified by police, was upgraded to from critical to stable condition last night at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
The adult male was stabbed in his left leg and lost a significant amount of blood, police said.
The victim was stabbed after an argument occurred at the Dutton Road party. Simpson is accused of pulling out a knife, stabbing the victim in the leg and then fleeing the area.
Despite Simpson’s arrest, the altercation remains under investigation.
No further details were available from police last night.
