Todd Beati has been named to the Executive Board of Trinity College's National Alumni Association. Beati graduated from Trinity in 1983 with a bachelor of science degree in biology. The VNA of Middlesex-East 18th annual Gala Auction on Nov. 6, raised over $81,000 for its Sawtelle Family Hospice House. The event honored board member and Andover resident Karen Marshall whose hard work and generosity have played an important part of the event's repeated success. Stuart Mackey, son of Jo Ann Mackey of North Andover, competed as a member of the National Guard Bureau Marksmanship Team against individuals and teams from all the around the globe. The National Matches are considered America's World Series of competitive shooting and have been a tradition at Camp Perry, Ohio, since 1907. The matches include a series of firing positions at various distances where their scores count toward a number of different trophies. Earl Zimmerman has graduated from the Army ROTC (Reserve Officers' Training Corps) Leader's Training Course at Fort Knox, Ky. The four-week course is a leadership internship for cadets that can lead to the ultimate goal of becoming an Army officer. College students experience and examine the Army without incurring an obligation to serve in the Army or ROTC, and are eligible to receive two-year college scholarship offers and attend the Advanced ROTC Course at their college. Army Reserve Pfc. Diego Murillo has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. During the nine weeks of training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experiencing use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman. Murillo is a 2010 graduate of Lawrence High School. He is the son of Hector and Delia Murillo of Lawrence.

Fitchburg State University recently recognized James Hayden of Methuen, a member of the class of 1982, for his service as Past Alumni President from 2006 to 2010. The Alumni Award was presented during Gold Key Weekend in September. Hayden studied communications media at Fitchburg State. For the last ten years he has been an advocate for his alma mater, with his focus on helping to provide deserving students with financial support to pursue their education at Fitchburg State. He is currently employed as the events manager at the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center. Hayden and his family are Revolutionary War re-enactors with the 1st NH Regiment and are also members of the End Zone Militia at Gillette Stadium.
