HAVERHILL — A city man told police he parked his car in the MBTA lot at 1 Washington Ave., and returned to find it had been broken into.

Alex Lewis, 483 Washington St., told police the driver's side window of the car was smashed and the trunk opened from inside the car.

Lewis said a Makita miter saw valued at $500 was taken from the trunk.

The theft was reported Sunday at 12:46 p.m., police said.
