ORFORD (AP) — New Hampshire officials say a six-mile stretch of road between Orford and Piermont has reopened after an unstable rock ledge was removed.

Officials closed part of Route 10 last week after a rock slide happened along the Piermont-Orford town line near Vermont, leaving an exposed 1,200-ton ledge hanging about 50 feet above the road.

Route 10 reopened to a single lane of traffic.

Transportation officials said yesterday that drivers should expect occasional 5 to 10 minute delays as crews continue to crush and remove large amounts of stone blasted from the rock face.
