HAVERHILL — Vandals used red spray paint to deface the parking deck on Merrimack Street, police said.

An officer found 5-foot-high lettering in five locations on the bottom level of the 20 Merrimack St. building, as well as in the stairwell.

The vandals wrote "stegster," "2010 baby" and "STEG."

The damage was photographed and the photos were logged into evidence, police said.

Vandalism: 28 Salem St., car damaged, 2:48 p.m.

Disturbance: 4 S. Kimball St., 3:05 p.m.

Car crash: 200 Main St., under investigation, 3:29 p.m.

Disturbance: 6 10th Ave., 5:49 p.m.

Car break: 18 Dawn Circle, 8:17 p.m.

Arrest: Kevin Goodick, 17, 35 The Greenway, breaking and entering in the nighttime with intent to commit a felony, malicious destruction of property over $250, 407 Amesbury Road, 11 p.m.
