WINDHAM, N.H. — A local man involved in a head-on collision Thursday remained hospitalized at Parkland Medical Center in Derry in critical condition last night, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Alexander Bonneau, 46, of Roulston Road, suffered serious internal injuries when his Honda Accord crossed the center line and collided with a westbound Toyota Camry near the Exit 3 off-ramp from Interstate 93 about 6 p.m. on Thursday.

According to Sgt. Carl Wagner, it appeared that Bonneau had suffered cardiac arrest. Police are still investigating the accident, and particularly whether Bonneau suffered the cardiac arrest before crashing his car or as a result of the accident.

"We're trying to determine if the medical condition caused the crash or the crash itself caused the injuries," Wagner said.

He said it would be unlikely that charges would result from the accident.
