Performers looking to join the Merrimack Valley YMCA's third annual Merrimack Valley Music & Arts Festival can do so by participating in three upcoming qualifiers.

Performers and artists between the ages of 10 and 18 must attend one of these three events: Thursday, Feb. 22 at the Methuen YMCA; Thursday, March 1 at the Lawrence YMCA; and Thursday, March 8 at the Methuen YMCA.

The festival will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. March 10 at the Methuen YMCA. Awards will be given for Best Group Performance, Best Solo Performance and Best Visual Art.

Learn about senior wellness

METHUEN — Primary Care Physician Dr. Mark V. Pace will talk about senior wellness during an upcoming Senior Supper at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen on Wednesday, March 14.

Pace, of Steward Primary Care of Southern New Hampshire, will talk about the importance of wellness in all aspects of our lives as we age and offer tips for living a healthy, happy and longer life.

Pace earned his medical degree at University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Springfield, Pennsylvania, and then completed his residency in family medicine at the Metropolitan Hospital Springfield Division there. He is board-certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Medicine and his special interests include family medicine and geriatric medicine.

The luncheon presentation will be held from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in hospital’s ground-floor auditorium at 70 East St., Methuen.

Garden club offers scholarship

NORTH ANDOVER — The North Andover Garden Club is offering a $1,500 scholarship to students intending to major in horticulture, botany, agriculture, landscape design, environmental studies, forestry, conservation or a closely related field.

The scholarship is to help further the NAGC’s mission to advance the science of horticulture, the conservation of natural resources, and the development of civic beautification.

Graduating high school seniors who reside in North Andover and are currently attending North Andover High School, a regional vocational/technical school or private school are encouraged to apply. Children and grandchildren of a NAGC member are also eligible.

The scholarship is given in honor of longtime club member Richard J. Kulpinski (1938-2017) for his many contributions to the club and community.
