LAWRENCE -- Firefighters found a deceased 57-year-old man in a van after responding to a fire Thursday morning.
The van was parked at 34 Winter St. and firefighters responded there around 6:15 a.m. for a report of smoke in the area, according to officials.
"A person was living in the van," Moriarty said.
Officials were not releasing the man's identity on Thursday because his family members had not yet been notified of his death. His body was being taken to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy.
There are no indications at this time that foul play contributed to the man's death.
The incident remains under investigation by Lawrence police and firefighters, state troopers assigned to the fire marshal's office and District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett's office.
