METHUEN — An elderly woman was killed in a fire at her 55 Lyndale Ave. home early this morning, firefighters

said.

The cause of the fire is now under investigation. Firefighters received 911 calls that the woman's Cape-style home was fully engulfed in flames at 2 a.m.

The fire department was not releasing the name of the deceased woman, who was estimated to be between 75 and 85 years old.

City records indicate the home is owned by Marcelle and William McKee and is currently valued at $297,800.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation by Methuen firefighters and state troopers assigned to State Fire Marshal Stephen Coan's office.

Lyndale Avenue is located on the west side of the city off Pelham Street.

Lawrence firefighters covered Methuen Central Fire Station while city crews were tied up this morning.
