Route 28 crash in Windham leaves motorcyclist seriously injured

WINDHAM —  A morning collision on Saturday resulted in a serious injury for a Tewksbury man. 

Windham and Derry Police responded to the crash at 9:20 a.m., at Rockingham Road at Goodhue Road near the Derry-Windham border. 

A motorcycle driven by 57-year-old Glenn Urquhart of Tewksbury traveling north on on Indian Rock Road collided with a midsize SUV driven by 72-year-old Susan Wood of Derry.

Rockingham Road was closed for almost six hours and reopened around 4 p.m.

Urquhart was taken to a Boston hospital for serious injuries and went into surgery Saturday night, according to Windham Police Capt. Michael Caron.

Caron said there is no update on Urquhart's condition on Monday. 

According to Caron, Wood was transported to a local hospital as a precautionary measure for her injuries. 

The accident is still under investigation, according to Caron.
