WINDHAM — As the school year closes, Windham High and its Jaguar Alliance Club hosted a special field day filled with goodbyes, memories and friendship.
The ninth annual field day barbecue was held May 31, featuring a staff against students softball game, activities for spectators and a chance for everyone socialize with teachers and alumni of the school.
For many students, teachers and staff the barbecue was also a chance to say goodbye to Bill Raycraft, Windham High’s football coach and athletic director who is leaving the job at the end of this school year. Raycraft announced his resignation in March and served Windham High since the school opened in 2009.
Teacher Mike Welch said in an email that the field day/barbecue is also a chance to students to reminisce about high school years before heading off to their future plans.
