HAMPSTEAD — A Sandown woman who was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash last Sunday night has died.
Police confirmed that Gina Rogers, 43, died Friday at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, where she had been reported in critical condition since her arrival last Monday. She was being treated for extensive head trauma.
Her husband, Mark Rogers, 47, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated after crashing his 2009 Harley-Davidson into a guard rail on Route 111, near Garland Drive, at 9:49 p.m. on Sept. 12. Gina, a passenger, was thrown from the motorcycle into the street.
Hampstead police Sgt. Rick Chambers said last night that he couldn't comment on whether police will upgrade the criminal charges against Mark Rogers as a result of his wife's death.
"The accident remains under investigation," Chambers said, adding that police Lt. John Frazier may have a statement about the case tomorrow.
Mark Rogers was treated and released for non-life-threatening injuries follow the crash. Neither her nor his wife were wearing a helmet, police said.
