Trees have reportedly fallen on numerous houses and power lines in Andover and North Andover, and a tornado watch remains in effect for all of Massachusetts and New Hampshire through tonight.

As of 6 p.m., 1,876 National Grid customers in Andover and 4,199 in North Andover were without power. Two hundred and fifty customers in Lawrence and 78 in Haverhill were also without electricity.

The National Weather Service tornado watch remains in effect until 10 p.m. A tornado watch does not mean a storm is in sight, only that conditions could permit a tornado to form.

Severe thunderstorms are expected tonight, with hail and wind gusts up to 70 mph.
