To the editor:
I'm writing for all the people in North Andover who were disturbed by the music celebration on Saturday, Aug. 28. I cannot believe the city allowed the music part of the celebration to continue well into the early morning of Sunday, Aug. 29.
During Saturday evening, the music was so loud, those of us on the other side of Interstate 495 heard not only the music but the vibrations from just how loud it was played. It was so loud it was heard over the top of I-495 down into the valley below the highway through the walls of my home. It could be heard over my television and air conditioner.
Finally at 12:45 a.m. in bed listening to the noise and unable to get to sleep, I decided to call the police. While looking for the telephone number, at 12:50 a.m. the music stopped.
I want it understood I'm not complaining about the celebration, only the discourteous person or persons who allowed the music to continue until 12:50 a.m. Sunday morning. The music in the past stopped at a normal time.
I believe something went wrong this past weekend. I would hope in the future it doesn't happen again.
