The recent Associated Press article by Lisa Pane printed in The Sunday Eagle-Tribune indicated the use of a silencer in the Virginia Beach shootings really didn’t make much difference in what occurred, other than making it more comfortable for the shooter.
I doubt if the author was ever in a closed room when a 45 caliber weapon was discharged. The noise is absolutely deafening.
Such a noise may have given the victims a few minutes to dive under their desks and seek at least partial shelter.
And the beat goes on, one more senseless shooting tragedy fills the front page and fades from public awareness in less than a week.
