Tidal wave

Thank you to Dr. Kerry Pound for a heartfelt piece on the legislative obscenity that is the ROE Act. I hope, though, that she’s prepared for the tidal wave of hatred and bigotry that's will appear in the paper and in Sound Off from the oh-so-tolerant and caring left since the doctor dared criticize their holiest of sacraments.

Sewing mistrust

As the final bells ring for this school year in Haverhill, I’d like to thank four members of the School Committee who’ve done so much to turn a loving, nurturing school system into one of mistrust that now lacks direction and compassion. Two more years and I'm out of a system that offered so much to so many. Many of my colleagues share these sentiments.

Speaking out

Thank you to Dr. Kerry Pound for so eloquently expressing in writing what so many of us feel in our hearts regarding the horrors of the proposed ROE Act of Massachusetts. Signed, the mother of a doctor.

So, the Haverhill School Committee and some teachers are asking the city to increase the school budget — and rightfully so. But Haverhill is too concerned right now with rallying and spending money for pot shops.

Clean hands

The Sound Off writer who referred to the “president's admission that he would work with a foreign enemy to get dirt on a political opponent" is incorrect. This is not what he said, and I would suggest the contributor listen to the actual statement. I would also recommend reading the October 2017 Washington Post article where Brian Fallon, press secretary to Hillary Clinton, stated of the Steele Dossier: “I probably would have volunteered to go to Europe myself to try and verify if it would have helped get more of this out there before the election." Before running around making accusations, Democrats need clean hands.

What he said

Democrats are the only ones serving Kool-Aid, and some Sound Off contributors are getting plenty of it: President Trump did not say he'd work with a foreign enemy to get dirt on an opponent, he said he'd listen to what they have to say and pass it on to the FBI, if needed. Since when has Russia become an enemy? They are not our enemy, as yet.

Fawning over DeLeo

Given the way liberals at the Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce fawned all over House Speaker Robert DeLeo, you would have thought he was the pope. Have they forgotten that DeLeo is an unindicted co-conspirator in the Probation Department scandal, and should be in jail just like the last three Democrat speakers of the Massachusetts House of Representatives? Or is it that the liberals just don't care?

Do your job

U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton's recent remarks at the Kennedy Institute did not mention anything about the illegal immigration problem that our country faces, especially in Massachusetts. This state has more illegal immigrants per capita than any other state. Massachusetts, as well as the U.S. economy, cannot afford to keep supporting these people. Instead of protecting the economic base of the country and his Massachusetts constituents, Moulton is more fixed on impeaching President Trump. Go back to Washington, concentrate on passing meaningful legislation, and do your job, instead of wasting time beating the political drum. You and the rest of the Democrats are still miffed over President Trump beating the hateful Hillary Clinton. Get over it.
