Friday Night Heroes

Nick Lawrence, Timberlane

With his twin brother injured on the sidelines, Nick Lawrence put Timberlane on his shoulders and rolled to an unforgettable performance.

The senior running back notched 296 yards rushing and four touchdowns, two of over 60 yards. Not content with offense, he added eight tackles and a pass defended in the 38-26 win over Memorial.

Max Jacques, Salem

In Salem's 41-20 blowout of Manchester Memorial, Max Jacques rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns on just seven carries — in the first quarter!

Jacques, who is already one of the most prolific backs in school history, finished with 164 yards on 16 carries.

Brandon Walsh, North Andover

Walsh made his season debut and the junior brought his A game in the lopsided 41-6 win over Amesbury.

He completed 6 of 8 passes for 113 yards including three TD passes. Two were to Jon Swanton and one, just 1:59 into the game, was to David Foote. Walsh also carried six times for 58 yards and a score.

Cal Carroll, Methuen

The senior signal-caller lit up Malden for an eye-popping five touchdown passes in a 42-12 romp.

He completed 11 of 16 passes and was 7 of 7 in the second half. His fellow returning Eagle-Tribune All-Star, Raudy Minaya, caught three of the scoring aerials.
