The Haverhill Elite Track Club competed at the AAU National Junior Olympics in Ypsilanti, Mich.

Thomas Darisse won the 9-year-old turbo javelin national title with a throw of 80-2 and Azariah Hooper placed sixth. Top eight were billed “All-Americans” and the club had numerous honorees.

Jeremy Darisse was sixth in the 11-year-old turbo javelin with a 87-11 throw. Hanna Holmes was sixth in the girls turbo 10-year-olds with a 55-5 throw while Josie Mendeszoon was seventh at 53-9.

Peter Crapsey ran a 5:22.67 in the 1,500 and a 2:40.61 800 and opened eyes at the Junior Olympic swimming nationals at the University of Michigan with titles in the 50 and 100 backstrokes.

Jack Lancaster (long jump), Caleigh Warchol (discus, shot put), Synneva Elliott (shot put, javelin) and Kristen Crapsey (discus, shot put, javelin) also competed at Nationals.
