NORTH ANDOVER — Merrimack College senior winger Mike Collins has signed an Amateur Tryout Offer with the Providence Bruins (AHL).

Collins finished his Merrimack career over the weekend with 118 points (53 goals, 65 assists) in 138 games played. Collins never scored less than 10 goals or 25 total points in his four years with the Warriors.

In 2010-11, Collins was named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team. Last season, he was named a First-Team All-Hockey East as well as a Second Team All-American.

The Bruins will host the Worcester Sharks at the Dunkin Donuts Center this Friday before traveling to Springfield, Mass. to take on the Falcons on Saturday and then it’s back to the Dunkin Donuts Center on Sunday to host the Hartford Wolpack in a matinee.

The Bruins, currently third in the AHL’s Atlantic Division, have 15 games remaining in the regular season.

Collins will continue to take classes at Merrimack during the tryout offer with Providence.
