Central Catholic lacrosse player Courtney Smith and Lawrence wrestler Elvis Genao are the Moynihan Lumber Scholar-Athletes of the Month for March.
Smith, of Windham, will attend Wake Forest. She also looked at BU, Quinnipiac, UConn, UVM, UNH and WPI.
She is ranked fourth in her class and plans to study biochemistry.
The tri-captain has scored 12 goals for the 9-1 Raiders.
Also an accomplished gymnast, Smith finished fourth in the all-around to help Central win the MVC/DCL meet.
Genao is ranked ninth out of 122 students in his senior class.
The Lancers' lone captain, he placed third in the Division I North Sectional. He posted a win at 103, which helped Lawrence capture the Division 1 state dual-meet championship.
A two-time MVC All-Star, Genao is a John & Abigail Adams Scholar for his scores on the MCAS test.
