HAVERHILL — In the early evening on Tuesday, April 26, 2011, Thomas Francis Gray, 39, husband, father, son, brother, died in a motorcycle accident.

Thomas, known to friends as Tom, was native of Bradford, and was born in Haverhill, July 29, 1971. Educated in the Haverhill school system, Tom attended and Whittier Tech Vocational School. He also attended Northern Essex Community College.

He was a machinist for Mass Transit and worked for the MBTA for the past 17 years.

Tom loved working and staying busy, as well as spending time with his sons, wife, and friends. He made his home, everyone's home. He had a tremendous, enigmatic life force that lit up the sky. He had a gorgeous smile that you could not help but smile back at, no matter the situation. Tom was simply a wonderful man who would do anything to help anyone. He touched so many peoples' lives with his magnetism, searing wit, but most of all love and humanity. We love you, Tom.

Tom will be lovingly remembered by his soulmate and wife of 14 years, India; and their sons, Lucien Thomas, 13, and Atticus Caden, 8. He is also survived by his parents, James P. and Mary M. (Fitzgerald) Gray, Sr. of Haverhill. In addition, he will be sadly missed by his siblings, James P. and (Courtney) Gray, Jr. of East Hampstead, N.H., Jannine M. Fetty; brother-in-law and best friend, Kevin P. Fetty; and grandmother, Mary Fitzgerald, all of Haverhill, Tom leaves behind brother-in-law, Elijah J. Martin of Newton, N.H., brother-in-law, Weston Lane of Berkley, Calif.; father-in-law, Scott and Susan Lane of Newton, N.H.; and mother-in-law, Candice Lane of Bradford. He also leaves behind his beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and many close friends.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the calling hours on Sunday, May 1, 2011 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. At the family's request, the interment in the Linwood Cemetery will be private. A celebration of Tommy's life will be held on Monday, May 2, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Black Swan Country Club, 258 Andover St., Georgetown.
